Amazing Autumn Dresses

Hey Misfits,
It is currently the middle of Autumn now for us and I went shopping online for some new dresses. I bought a total of 3 dresses from eBay and thought I would share. These dresses are also perfect for Spring and Summer.

I ordered the Dark Blue dress which is the purple one however I did buy the last one of them. I love all these dresses in these colours and it is really cheap as well at only $10.99 AU (with $3.99 AU postage)

Women Sexy Open Back Bowknot Sleeveless Party Evening Business Mini Pencil Dress

I love this dress. The bow can be either on the front or back. I'd wear it on the back however because I personally think it looks better. There is a black version of this dress available however I think the bow stands out more on the apricot.

Hot Women's Sleeveless Lace Hollow-Out Back Slim Evening Club Party Mini Dress

This dress is so cute and classy. Although it has a simple design it still screams elegance. It costs about $15 AU (including postage). So it is cheap and I recommend it for anything.

Get the Look - Avril

Avril Lavigne is an amazing singer/songwriter. And lately EVERY one of her songs completely relates to me. Anyway, I thought I would do this get the look thing on Avril. Her style is very out there yet its simple. I've also found with Avril, is that shes quite dramatic and uses thick eyeliner and a nude coloured lipstick/lipgloss.

This look is quite a natural one that even I would wear. I wouldn't wear the shoes though as I don't like that sort of thing.

This is the look Avril wore in her music video "Smile". Although the shirt isnt exactly the same I believe it has the same edge she was looking fore. 

This style of Avril's is evident through almost ALL of her earlier songs. Its the plaid skirt simple tee style. She this sort of thing in "Girlfriend" and "Best Damn Thing" and also during a tour of some kind. It is less dramatic then her other looks as its not so dark and heavy on her eyes. It is definitley my favourite of Avril's.

 

Now of course I had to add in the cheerleader look from the "Best Damn Thing" video. She's really trying to be "that" girl. Yeah you know the one, the "cheerleader". (if you don't get it, it's because I'm trying not to swear). Anyway although I couldn't EXACTLY what she is wearing I think I covered the cheerleader look.

Last Days of Summer

As it is the 15th today and its quite hot (currently 30 degrees celcius) I was thinking Summer is almost over. This is my Summer outfit - I have worn this almost all the time. I like it because the singlet is short (it is a tight fiting one though) and the skirt is short enough to not be catching on your legs.


I love this look and its nice and simple and cheap. I definitely recomend this for next summer!

Facial Cleansing Products and Tips

I have been having trouble with the skin around my lips being really dry and as school comes back it's not the best thing to look like that. Especially around teens. So I thought why not do a post on how to look after your face with some tips and products to use.  And I also want to mention that I am not suggesting everyone has bad skin or anything like that.

PRODUCTS
First of all, Derma intensive+ series. There are three products in the series, a gentle cleansing milk, a clarifying facial toner and an anti-wrinkle night cream. All of which come for under $5 AUD at Coles.

A great product for your lips is Vaseline. Which is a pure petroleum jelly, and I know it doesn't sound like something someone would put on their lips but I promise you it works wonders.

To remove make up I use Neutrogena make up remover cleansing towelettes. They are really soft, easy to use and EFFECTIVE!

TIPS

1. When you wash your face first wet it in warm water to open the pores. This cleans them out so your less likely to get zits and pimples. And after you finish washing your face close them again by applying cold water. That way they STAY clean.
2. It may sound weird but by cutting a slice of cucumber (leave the skin on) and rubbing it all over your face then washing it off, makes your face shinier.
3. Cleans your face twice a day. In the morning and at night before bed.
4. Exfoliate! Exfoliate AT LEAST once a week. Scrubbing away dead skin cells will make your skin look healthier and younger.
5. Moisterise your skin. I moisterise after I shower, before and after I apply foundation and before I go to bed. I use Garnier Skin Naturals Pure 24 Hours Moisterising Care and it is a charm.

And I do pretty much ALL of these things but sometimes I forget. I highly recommending this to reduce wrinkling and skin damage especially if you wear make up.

Summer Ready...

As it is currently January and in Australia it is Summer Time, I though I should do a Summer Ready Dress Collection. This is a collection of my favourite dresses I could find from 2 online stores (the links will be at the end of the post). The stores I picked are ModCloth and Lulus.  I have categorized the dresses into Casual, Party, Occasions and Strapless. 

 Casual

Google defines casual as relaxed and unconcerned. I usually would describe casual as something you can wear to the shopping center or cinema. Its light and easy to wear but should also make a statement about your fashion style.

Fizz This Love?

Fizz This Love is a cute little dress. The shell and lining is 100% polyester and the combo fabric is 55% polyester and 45% nylon. It is required to be dry cleaned, which I find slightly annoying. The dress is fully lined except for the top and back and there are side pockets. I would wear this dress more on the smart casual side of things but for a casual look just if I'm shopping with my friends or out to the movies. I wouldn't wear it 'around the house' because it is a little too fancy for a simple wearing like that. Fizz This Love comes in a series of sizes, varying from 2 - 14 and costs a whopping $147.99 AUD. Although it is extremely expensive, I believe it is an amazing dress and even if I don't personally own it myself I would totally buy it any day.

Fresh Fortitude

The title is quite alluring. It just feels right when you say it. The dress its self is made up of 100% cotton (shell), 95% cotton, 5% nylon (lace), the trim is 65% Rayon, 35% linen and the lining is also 100% cotton. This dress kind of reminds me of an old (not in age) drama teacher I had once. Its quite nice for a casual dress and I personally would wear this anywhere from a shopping center to a park. Fresh Fortitude comes in three sizes; S, M and L and costs only $67.99 AUD. This dress is both elegant and cute and definitely screams Summer.

Rooftop Brunch

The Rooftop Brunch is certainly a dress for a meal. Not only does it have a gorgeous look but quite romantic as well.  Its shell and contrast is 97% cotton and 3% spandex while the dresses lining is 100% polyester. I would wear this dress anywhere really. On a picnic, in the park, at a 'mall' (we don't really say mall in Australia), even to get a coffee. Rooftop Brunch comes in three sizes; S, M and L and costs $79.99 AUD. The dress although not super expensive is also not that cheap. I recommend this amazing dress to anyone who wants it.

Amour the Merrier Lavender Lace

The Amour the Merrier Lavender Lace is a lot less fancier the the other dresses. The dress is short and would be real nice to wear down here where its hot. The dress is made from 100% polyester. I probably wouldn't wear the dress to much out of the house though. I find it more of a lounge around your home sort of dress. Island Aperitif comes in four sizes; XS, S, M and L and costs a cheap $39 AUD. The dress is quite cheap and it wouldn't be at the top of my summer wish list.

BB Dakota 

The BB Dakota is made for summer the black top and white skirt are perfectly contrasted together. The bodice is 68% polyester, 28% raylon, 4% spandex and the skirt is 100% polyester. I would wear this dress to anything even for school (whether its university or a non uniform high school). Island Aperitif comes in five sizes; 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 and costs $72 AUD. The dress is certainly worth all 72 of its dollars.

Party

A party dress is a dress worn especially for a party. Different types of party such as children's party, cocktail party, garden party and costume party would tend to require different styles of dress. One classic style of party dress for women in modern society is the little black dress.

Away We Bow

This dress is a cute, adorable dress. It was made in the USA and its gorgeous sleek, tight-fitting body is what makes it so lovable. It is made from 66% rayon, 30% nylon and 4% spandex. The dress is perfect for a date or a party. The Sizes are; XS, S, M and L and cost $39 AUD. The dress is so amazing that I cannot wait until I buy it.

Time and Grace

Time and Grace is an absolute stunning dress. It has soft and neutral tones to it. The dress is made of 100% polyester (shell), 60% cotton, 40% nylon (contrast) and 100% polyester (lining).

It has a real classy look to it and thats why I think it would be the right dress for an engagement party or a wedding. The sizes it comes in are S, M, and L and the dress costs $99.99 AUD. Even though it is seriously expensive, I believe you could get more than one use out of it. 

Waiting for the Countdown

The Waiting for the Countdown dress screams champagne and dazzling dancing. Teresa said the dress was super cute and flattering and I agree. Made from 100% polyester this stretchless dress is perfect for New Years parties and birthdays and Christmas. The dress costs $99.99 AUD and comes in UK sizes 6 through to 14. 

Midnight Masquerade 

Midnight Masquerade is a sexy dress. There are no other words to describe the sleekness or beauty. The dress its self is made from 100% polyester while the lining is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. I would wear this dress at a club, on a date or out to dinner. Midnight Masquerade comes in the three sizes S, M and L while costing $72 AUD.

Occasions

I have thought that occasions wear was something you would only wear once or twice (you could wear it more obviously) but the dress would be for your formal or wedding. It is something you feel amazing in as well.

You Lead the Sway

You Lead the Sway is a glamorous maxi dress, perfect for your formal or a friends wedding so you don't out do the bride.  The shell made from 100% polyester and the lining made from 96% polyester and 4% elastane. Coming in the UK sizes 6 through to 14 and costing $99.99 AUD

Cue the Compliments

Cue the Compliments dress reminds me of a Taylor Swift dress. It looks absolutely fantastic and it has pockets. The dress is 65% cotton and 35% polyester while the lining is 100% polyester. I would wear the dress anywhere and everywhere including holiday parties, graduation, formals, seriously anything. The dress comes in small, medium and large and costs $64.99 AUD.

Baklava Beauty

The Baklava Beauty is a adorable little dress. The Shell is made from 98% cotton and 2% spandex. The organza (I don't know what that is) is made from 100% polyester while the lining is 100% cotton. I would wear this to simple occasions such as family events, dinners, outings, or even to the shops. The Baklava Beauty comes in the sixes S, M and L and costs $89.99 AUD.

Strapless

A strapless dress or top is a garment that stays put around the upper body without shoulder straps or other visible means of support. It is usually supported by and internal corset or brassiere with the tightness of the bodice preventing the dress from slipping out of position.

Anything Bows

The Anything Bows dress is a gorgeous tight fitting dress with a cute bow on the back. The coral red colour is also amazing for it. The dress comes from the USA and is made from 74% rayon, 22% nylon and 4% spandex. I would wear this at a party most likely or on a date or dinner or something like that. The sizes are XS, S, M, and L and the price is $39 - a real bargin.

Storied Romance

The Storied Romance dress is a modern version of a corset dress. The colours are stunning just like the dress. It comes in the three sizes S, M and L. Made from 100% polyester this $60 dress is perfect. 

The only problem is for what. I have sat here for 30 minutes trying to work out wear I would wear it and frankly - I have NO idea. None!

New Old Camera

So the other day I was going through the cupboards in my house and I found my mums old camera in one of them. Its a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 camera. It's meant to be Panasonic's transition camera between the small pocket cameras and a DSLR camera. My mum actually said that she didn't need it anymore so I can have it now. The only problem is that the battery is broken so I had to order a new and don't know how well the camera actually works. When I get the battery I will take some photos and show you guys. If it works well I will be able to start to take photos for the blog. I will let you know when the battery comes. Have any of you guys ever used this camera, if so tell me how it works in the comments.

Top 3 Best Red Carpet Looks 2013: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is one of my favourite celebrities in terms of style, her outfits are always elegant, sophisticated and beautiful. Throughout 2013 Taylor had many different red carpet events that she attended. In this post I will show you some of my favourite of her outfits from red carpet events in 2013. 

Fragrance Foundation Awards

Taylor Swift looked amazing at the 2013 Fragrance Foundation awards wearing an elegant white Emilio Pucci with an on trend sheer cut out. Taylor was also wearing Rene Caovilla shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. The hair and make-up add to the overall look of the outfit with the messy refined topknot showing the halter neckline perfectly and the blue eye make-up adds a much needed pop of colour making the whole outfit totally on trend and stylish. 

CMA Awards

Taylor Swift made her grand entrance at the CMA awards in an elegant red Elie Saab gown with beautiful detailing. She paired the gown with Jimmy Choo shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. The hair and make-up really contribute to the princess feel of the outfit with the low updo adding class and sophistication while the bold red lip and simple eye makeup ties the entire outfit together making it very elegant and fit for a princess.

AMA Awards

Taylor Swift made a statement looking gorgeous in gold at the AMA awards. The 23 year old country singer showed up wearing a Julien Macdonald dress, Jimmy Choo heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. The hair and makeup tie the look together completely. The natural messy hair look really complements the outfit by not drawing any attention away from the amazing dress, and the simple eye makeup and nude lip complement the colours of the dress perfectly.

Happy New Years!!!

Hey everyone,

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. It's so amazing to think that even though this blog has been going for only, well since the 23rd of December 2013 and its only the first of January 2014, my point is that it's a new thing and already we have had more success than I though we would (and I thought nothing). I just want to mention that we will try to post once a week so keep checking back. 

I hope you all have an amazing 2014 and good luck with your New Years resolutions (if you have any)
